Tanzania
Sister Rosalie Lacorte has been living in Tanzania for the past decade. She initiated Tupendane Cottage Industry (Tupendane means "love one another"). Tupendane consists of a number of small self-help enterprises, comprised of about 50 women. This helps the women become self-reliant and are able to support family members. Community Alive was started in the mid 1990s when Ugandan youth came to Musoma, Tanzania to inform their peers on HIV/AIDS and what they can do to protect themselves. Today, Community Alive assists people of all ages affected by HIV/AIDs. Sr. Rosalie currently helps 45 AIDs Orphans.
