Lesotho
Julie Lokken is the third Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho that Seeds is connected with.
Four community gardens have been established with the seeds that we have sent to Julie. Two of the gardens are run by a LENEPWHA (Lesotho Network of People Living With HIV/AIDS) support groups. They intend to sell some of the harvest as income generation to raise money for transport to the hospital and to buy certain medications and the rest of the harvest they will plan to divide amongst themselves as a source of good nutrition and food security. The third community garden is at a local clinic. The beneficiaries will be People Living with HIV/AIDS and the local orphans and vulnerable children. The fourth garden is going to be used to help the orphans and vulnerable children of that village.
