Bosnia
American Friends Services Committee (www.afsc.org/europe/bosnia) established in 2000 14 community gardens throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. The purpose is to provide a safe and supportive environment for people of different ethnic groups (Bosniak, Serb, Croat, Roma) could work side by side. For most participants this was their first contact with people from other ethnic groups since teh brutal war that divided the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992-1995.
